FAQ - The Venusian Society

1. What is the Venusian Society?

The Venusian Society is a collective devoted to the erotic arts, education, and embodiment. We create spaces where kink, ritual, and erotic expression are honored as pathways to beauty, self knowledge, and connection.

2. What does “Venusian” mean in your work?

To be Venusian is to embrace beauty, sensuality, and love as sacred forces. Our work is inspired by Aphrodite and the timeless principle that pleasure, artistry, and devotion can transform both the self and community.

3. Who can be part of the Society?

Our doors are open to all who resonate with our values: consent, inclusivity, diversity, devotion, and erotic freedom. We are proudly queer affirming, femme affirming, body positive, and committed to equity in access.

4. What kinds of offerings do you host?

We host weekly classes, workshops, gatherings, and more, each designed as a blend of art, ritual, and community. Some offerings are open to all, while others are intimate, curated experiences reserved for members or by application.

5. What makes the Venusian Society different from other communities?

Many spaces focus solely on technique or play. The Venusian Society approaches the erotic as sacred, aesthetic, and transformative. We do not separate kink, art, and ritual. They are woven together as one devotion.

6. How do you approach consent and safety?

Consent is the foundation of all our spaces. We practice and teach clear, enthusiastic, and ongoing consent. Safety protocols are upheld at every gathering, and we maintain a zero tolerance policy for violations of boundaries.

7. Is the Society queer and femme affirming?

Yes. We are proudly rooted in queer values and affirm diverse expressions of gender, sexuality, and relationship. Femme, queer, trans, non binary, and gender expansive voices are celebrated and central in our work.

8. Do I need experience in erotic practices?

Not at all. Most of our offerings are crafted to welcome both the curious beginner and the seasoned practitioner. What matters most is openness, respect, and devotion to the work.

9. What role does devotion play in your work?

Devotion is our philosophy. We believe beauty, eroticism, and the body are not tasks to be mastered, but sacred forces to be revered. Every knot, every experience, every gathering is an offering to the self, to the other, and to the divine.

10. How do you hold space for inclusivity and accessibility?

We strive to make our spaces as welcoming and accessible as possible. Venues are chosen with accessibility in mind, and our facilitators adapt practices to meet different bodies and needs. We encourage participants to share access needs so that we may honor them.

We operate with a Green Bottle sliding scale ticket system, inviting those with greater financial capacity to contribute at higher tiers so that others may attend at lower cost. In addition, 15% of Patron ticket net sales, alongside our direct contributions, funds Solidarity tickets and scholarships for BIPOC, disabled, trans, and other marginalized community members. This structure allows redistribution to be built into the fabric of our gatherings.

11. How can I attend, contribute, or collaborate with the Society?

You may join us at public gatherings or apply for more intimate events. Members of the community often contribute as volunteers, spotters, service submissives, performers, or collaborators. Artists and educators aligned with our ethos are warmly invited to connect.

12. Do you offer private sessions, mentorship, or tailored experiences?

Yes, private classes and sessions are available by application. These are highly personalized experiences, designed with the individual or pair in mind, always rooted in beauty, care, consent, and devotion.

13. What are your community agreements and accountability practices?

We uphold clear community agreements grounded in consent, respect, confidentiality, and personal responsibility. Harmful behavior, boundary violations, discrimination, or coercion are not tolerated. Concerns may be brought to designated organizers, and we address issues through a structured accountability process that prioritizes safety, transparency, and care for those impacted. Removal from events or the community may occur when necessary to protect collective wellbeing.

14. What level of explicitness can I expect at gatherings?

Our spaces are adult environments where erotic expression may be present, depending on the nature of the event. Some gatherings are educational and discussion based, while others may include visible play, partial or full nudity, or ritualized erotic expression. Each event is clearly described in advance so participants can make informed choices.

15. How are facilitators and contributors selected?

All facilitators and contributors go through a vetting process prior to teaching or hosting within the Society. This includes review of experience, alignment with our values, demonstrated understanding of consent culture, and a commitment to ethical practice. We prioritize educators and artists who approach the erotic arts with integrity, accountability, and devotion to ongoing growth.

16. What is your policy on privacy and photography?

Privacy is essential in erotic spaces. Photography and recording are not permitted unless explicitly stated and consented to in advance. We ask all participants to respect confidentiality and refrain from sharing identifying information about others outside the space.

17. Are your events substance and alcohol free?

Yes. All Venusian Society events are substance and alcohol free. We believe clarity, presence, and embodied awareness are essential for meaningful consent and safe exploration. Our commitment to sober spaces protects the integrity of our gatherings and the wellbeing of all participants.

18. Why center kink within a sacred framework?

We believe kink, when practiced with consent and intention, can become a site of profound self knowledge, transformation, and connection. Rather than separating technique from meaning, we honor the erotic as art, ritual, and philosophy. In doing so, we invite participants to engage not only in practice, but in devotion.

19. What is expected of participants before attending an event?

We ask all participants to read event descriptions carefully, review our community agreements, and arrive prepared to practice consent, communication, and self responsibility. Some gatherings may require prior experience, an application, or completion of foundational classes. We encourage attendees to reflect on their boundaries, desires, and capacity before entering the space.

20. How do you approach cultural awareness and power dynamics within kink?

We recognize that kink and power play do not exist outside broader social realities. Race, gender, disability, class, and other identities shape how power is experienced and negotiated. We are committed to ongoing education, cultural awareness, and critical reflection in our programming. Our facilitators and organizers actively engage these conversations to ensure that exploration remains consensual, informed, and ethically grounded.
