Pre-requisites & Materials:

– Something to write with and on.
– Basic familiarity with kink dynamics, consent frameworks, and safety is assumed.

About the class:

This workshop aims to enlighten attendees on the psychological and emotional dimensions of fear play, demonstrating how these elements can awaken arousal in unique ways. Crafting this kind of exhilarating kink experience involves a delicate balance of preparation, communication, and sadism, all while respecting individual boundaries.

We will delve into the physiological responses to fear and examine how to manage instinctual reactions such as fight, flight, freeze, or fawn safely during intense scenes.

Throughout our time, participants will learn to explore and harness sensory elements to heighten adrenaline. We will also discuss the dynamics of including multiple participants, whether directly involved or on the sidelines, and ensure all individuals are mentally and physically prepared to engage actively.

Let’s distinguish between healthy dynamics and those that could leave harmful, lasting effects. Learn how to navigate fear within consensual nonconsent scenarios. Discover how this profound form of intimacy can strengthen your connections.

Further discussions will include:

  • Essential negotiation techniques for discussing limits and maintaining safety
  • Verbal and nonverbal strategies to build suspense and enhance power exchange
  • Grounding methods to aid emotional processing before and after play
  • Skills for constructing scenes and effectively de-escalating intensity
  • Trauma-informed approaches to identify and honor triggers
  • Ways to incorporate costumes and props to evoke desired headspaces
  • Strategies for infusing humor and playfulness to ease tension
  • Creating rituals for safely entering and exiting heightened mindsets
